Vulnerability of fringescale sardinella (Sardinella fimbriata) and mackerel tuna (Euthynnus affinis) in Sunda Strait

Abstract

Fringescale sardinella (Sardinella fimbriata) and mackerel tuna (Euthynnus affinis) are two pelagic fish caught in Sunda Strait. Small pelagic groups are one of the fisheries resources that are under a lot of pressure due to exploitation activities. Overfishing conditions can result in vulnerability and disrupt the sustainability of resources. The aims of this study is to determine the level of vulnerability of fringescale sardinella and mackerel tuna.  Secondary data collection was carried out from April to July 2015 at PPP Labuan Banten. Productivity and vulnerability analyzes were carried out using PSA (Productivity-Susceptibility Analysis) software. The vulnerability index values ​​of tembang and tuna fish were 1.03 and 1.00, respectively. This value shows that both fish into the criteria of being less vulnerable.
