Aditia <p><span class="fontstyle0">The slaughterhouse is responsible for the Occupational Safety and Health of the workers and other people related to the activities. The purpose of the study was to examine the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety program at abattoir in DKI Jakarta. This study uses the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method as a guideline for identifying potential hazards and health problems in slaughterhouses. The results of the hazard severity assessment (Severity) based on risk analysis and risk evaluation show that the percentage of the impact of very light risk is 7%, light risk is 34% the impact of currently risk is 34%, the impact of heavy risk is 21% and the impact of fatal risk is 3%. The probability of an accident (likelihood) in the three abattoirs shows that abattoir C is less likely to have an accident with a percentage of 53%. The smaller of production capacity of an abattoir, the less likely an accident will occur. N. Zulfa R. R. Noor A. Atabany <p><span class="fontstyle0">Production and reproductive characteristics affect the productivity of dairy cows in producing milk. The repeatability value uses to estimate the most probable producing ability (MPPA), which helps estimate the productivity of dairy cattle in the subsequent lactation period. The study aimed to determine the actual ability and accuracy of MPPA based on dairy cows’ reproductive and production characteristics. Secondary data from 124 Friesian Holstein dairy cows under the auspices of the Jabung Agro Niaga Cooperative, Malang Regency. The t-test compares data from the 3</span><span class="fontstyle0" style="font-size: 6pt;">rd </span><span class="fontstyle0">lactation period and the MPPA value. T-test results between MPPA and 3rd lactation of milk production 0.436; lactation length 0.387; dry period 0.051; DO 0.3; and CI 0.243. The five traits are more than 0.05, so they can be stated to be significantly the same as the real value in 3rd lactation. The results of the t-test for postpartum mating are 0.04 and S/C 0.002, significantly different from the actual value in the third lactation because it is less than 0.05. R. A. Hasan A. Yani S. Rahayu <p><span class="fontstyle0">Good Farming Practice applied as agovernment-based guideline for good and precise cultivation in raising livestock. The main objective of good farming practice is to increase livestock population, meat production and livestock productivity. Published guidance contained how to apply good farming practices in goats and sheep cultivation, but priority of each aspect is not available. Based on that guidance, 5 main aspects were determined which include aspects of facilities, feed and drinking water, production processes. </span><span class="fontstyle2">Unit Pendidikan dan Peternakan Jonggol </span><span class="fontstyle0">(Jonggol Animal Husbandry Education and Research Unit), which was established since 1984, has a sheep farm unit with semi-intensive rearing methods, but the current production is less than optimal. This study aimed to examines Good Farming Practice (GFP) appliance at Jonggol Animal Husbandry Education and Research Unit using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to find priority vectors that will be apploed as the basis for the priority weights for each aspect, and then conduct an evaluation model to assess and improve the performance of livestock units in UP3J. The results showed priority aspects of GFP with the highest AHP weight, namely feed and drinking water (weight 0.548). This study shows that the combined value of<br>observation and priority vector of the aspects of feed and drinking water is 42.7%. F. dela Cruz <p><span class="fontstyle0">Farmers of the poultry industry are seeking new and more efficient techniques to produce broilers more quickly, without sacrificing quality, nutrition, or cost, as the demand for poultry rises in conjunction with the human population. This study analyzed the weight of broilers from day 1 to harvest day to determine the impact of each daily or weekly weight on the final weight of the broilers. The experiment was conducted in a conventional type of housing. One hundred thousand male Cobb strain day-old chicks were housed. The feed of the chicks consisted of commercially blended feeds including CP and BMEG, as well as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, in accordance with nutritional needs. The study examined the relationship between the day-old chick’s weight and the flock’s weekly weight and discovered that there is no correlation between the day-old chick’s weight and its weekly weight at days 7, 14, 21, 28, and 35 (harvest weight). However, the weight at the 7-day mark had the greatest effect on the potential market weight of the broiler. Suryati <p><span class="fontstyle0">Moringa Leaves </span><span class="fontstyle2">(Moringa Oleifera) </span><span class="fontstyle0">have high nutrition contents and bioactives substances, such as vitamins (B1, B2, B3, C, dan D), phenolic compounds, carotenoids, and nitrogen compounds. Therefore, Moringa leaves are often added to various processed meat products in order to increase the nutritional value and prevent oxidation reactions during product processing and storage. The aim of this study was to review the application of moringa leaves extract on processed meat products and study for their physicochemical, antioxidant, microbiological and sensory properties. The highest antioxidant activity measured using the DPPH method was found in using ethanol and methanol solvent with maceration techniques. Meat products that were added with Moringa leaf extract caused increased in antioxidant activity and protein content, reduced fat content and TBARS values, changed in pH, and increased in panelists’ preference if previously remove the unpleasant odors from Moringa leaves.</span> </p> 2022-10-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) Keragaman Gen BG1 sebagai Kandidat Gen Penciri Ketahanan Penyakit pada Calon Galur Ayam IPB-D2 2022-10-31T07:39:17+07:00 N. N. Miraj C. Sumantri S. Murtini N. Ulupi <p><span class="fontstyle0">The BG1 gene is a disease resistance candidate gene in chicken, which is located in the MHC region. The mechanism of the BG1 gene is known as an inhibitor of T lymphocyte cell activation. This study aims to identify the diversity of the SNP gene BG1 in the IPB-D2 chicken line. IPB-D2 chicken is a candidate for a new line from a cross from IPB-D1 chicken, which was selected for high body resistance and good productivity. A total of 27 DNA samples of IPB-D2 (G0) chickens and 58 samples of IPB-D2 (G2) chickens were sequenced to identify the diversity of BG1 genes. The study found 6 point mutations (g.4489 G&gt;T, g.4712 C&gt;T, g.4741 T&gt;C, g.4747 T&gt;C, g.4749 T&gt;C, g.4761 G&gt;A) and deletion of 2 nucleotide bases g.4758 - g.4759 delAT. The combination of 6 SNPs forms 4 haplotypes. The SNPs that changed the amino acid composition were SNP g.4489 G&gt;T cys&gt; phen, g.4712 C&gt;T gln&gt;codon stop, g.4749 T&gt;C val&gt;ala and g.4761 G&gt; A gly&gt; glu. Syahrin <p><span class="fontstyle0">Earthworms are nocturnal animals and have negative phototaxis, therefore the presence and color of light are thought to affect the performance of this </span><span class="fontstyle2">Lumbricus rubellus </span><span class="fontstyle0">earthworm. This study aims to analyze the effect of different color lights on </span><span class="fontstyle2">Lumbricus rubellus </span><span class="fontstyle0">performance. This study used a<br>completely randomized design (RAL), six color treatments (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, and dark as a control) and three replications with variables observed were weight gain, media weight, number of segments to the clitellum, and the number of cocoons. The results showed that the six types of color had different effects on the performance of the earthworm </span><span class="fontstyle2">Lumbricus rubellus</span><span class="fontstyle0">. Sipayung L. Cyrilla S. Sinaga <p><span class="fontstyle0">Pigs are one of the livestock commodities that have the potential to be developed. There was a markedly decreased pig population in Toba Regency due to African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak in 2019. This study aims to analyze the economic impact of ASF outbreaks on the financial of pig farming in Toba Regency. The research was conducted on a small-scale farm at Toba Regency North Sumatera. Data collection was carried out from May-July 2022 by interviewing 60 pig farmers. The impact of ASF on the financial of pig farming was measured by income analysis, Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C), and Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C). The results showed that the financial of pig farming at Kabupaten Toba with 10 sows the income, Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C), Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C); Rp 9.462.617,38; 1.2 and 0.2 before ASF and increased to Rp 55.434.480,13; R/C 2 and B/C 1 post ASF.</span> </p> 2022-10-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c)
