The main catch of fishing activities in the area of PPP Larangan is anchovy. The fishing gear used by fishermen in PPP Larangan are boat seine and purse seine. This study aimed to describe the boat and purse seines fishery in the area of PPP Larangan, calculated the productivity value of boat and purse seines catches in the morning and evening catches, and compared the effectiveness of the boat and purse seines catches in the morning and evening catches. The boat and purse seines fishing gear operated at the area of Larangan Coastal Fishing Port were one day fishing time i.e., morning and evening fishing. The productivity value of boat and purse seines in the morning catch was greater than in the evening catch. Produk ini bisa bertahan selama 1 tahun. Pemasaran produk ini masih bersifat tradisional yaitu barter dan masih tergolong murah. Dengan cara pengolahannya yang masih sederhana dan unik yang juga belum adanya informasi untuk mengembangkan produk tersebut. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan strategi pengembangan produk olahan ikan kadoru di Kecamatan Katikutana, Kabupaten Sumba Tengah. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dan analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis SWOT dan analisis matriks QSP. Analisis matriks <em>Quantitative Strategic Planning</em> (QSP) memperhatikan data yang dianalisis berdasarkan matriks IFE dan EFE untuk menghasilkan strategi sesuai urutan skor tertinggi ke urutan terendah. Strategi pengembangan produk olahan ikan kadoru di Kecamatan Katikutana Sumba Tengah adalah strategi progresif, menggunakan kekuatan internal (1,6) serta peluang eksternal (1,1). Peningkatan kualitas produk olahan tradisional kadoru menjadi produk olahan bernilai tambah tinggi dan kompetitif. To accelerate the nutrient cycling process, floc system is generally used where the remaining feed is processed by a consortium of microorganisms into biofloc which can be used by fish as additional feed and the rest is circulated to plants as nutrient. However, biofloc production is generally excessive. The remaining biofloc has the potential to be used as a base for biopellets. The aim of the study was to utilize biofloc as a base material for biopellets by using the right adhesive at the appropriate moisture content. Biopellet production was tested using various methods and adhesives. The factorial design was applied to test adhesive type, biofloc/adhesive composition, and moisture content treatments. Biopellet quality was tested through buoyancy and durability. Biofloc was successfully used as a basic material for biopellets production. Tapioca flour and bran were the best adhesives by using a modified grinding machine with a propeller blade to make the cutting process easier. For buoyancy, the composition of biofloc/adhesive of 5:5 at 13% water content showed the highest yield, using either tapioca flour or bran. However, effort to manage the mudcrab in the waters is still limited. This study aimed to estimate a growth of the mudcrab as a base for crab management at the waters. Monthly sampling of the crab in the study area was conducted according to fisherman catch using bamboo trap for 4 months (Juni-September 2013). Carapace width and weight were employed for calculating frequency distribution, growth pattern, and growth. Growth estimation of the crab was calculated using Von Bertalanffy equation. This study revealed that the carapace width of the mudcrab ranged of 60-138 mm (male), and 74-139 mm (females). Crab’s growth patterns of the mud crab was negative allometric, W = 0.0003L<sup>2.8793</sup> (male) dan W = 0.003L<sup>2.3210</sup> (female). The study objective was to implement a cabinet model fish dryer (Tunnel Fish Dryer) to improve the quality of dried fish by using andesite stone as a heat storage, which was placed on fire as a heating material. The heat was flowing into the fish heating room through the pipe using a fan. The five levels drying time frame period could produce the best quality smoked fish using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Each time frame had a different duration with three time repetitions, resulting in 15 experimental unit results. The drying times were as follows: A = 3 hours; B = 3.5 hours; C = 4 hours; D = 4.5 hours; and E = 5 hours. Reengineering and slurry ice production was conducted toward the sampel acquired from commercial market. The reengineered machine could produce slurry ice with ice cristal fraction of 30-40% and liquid fraction of 60-70%. Furthermore, a 1 ton/24 hours prototype of slurry ice machine was designed and produced. The machine successfully produced slurry ice of 700 kg/24 hours capacity, then it was tested for durability transporting by a pick-up from Depok, West Java to Lampung, Tasikmalaya, West Java, operated using brackish water at shrimp farm; and Tanjung Lesung, Banten operated with sea water on 35 GT fishing vessel. The machine could produce slurry ice using sea water, brackish water, and solution of 4.0% NaCl. The slurry ice produced was effectively used to preserve the freshness of shrimps from South Lampung and Tasikmalaya compared of using crushed ice. Shrimp preserved by crushed ice showed blackened color at the fifth day storage, while shrimp preserved by slurry ice still looked fresh on 14th day of storage. The study was conducted for 6 months (December 2012-May 2013), aims to reveal a reproductive biology of the fish caught in Karangsong coastal waters. Fish samples were taken from the catch of fishermen using a gill net with a mesh size of 0.5-1.5 inches (n=336 individuals). The results shows that the sex ratio between males and females was 1:2,0. Greenback mullet females mature was smaller than females with mature gonad size was 114 mm (for male) and 102 mm (for female). Peak spawning season of the fish in the Karangsong coastal waters was thought to occur in early February. Fecundity of greenback mullet was quite large in the amount of 9.691 to 173.335 eggs.
